Back in the 70's, when we lived in Eastern North Carolina, the landscape was dotted with tobacco drying barns. Haven't been back in a while and I wonder if many still stand.
I have been painting in watercolor for many years. Recently I was inspired to get into oil for a couple of reasons. My older daughter asked me to paint an oil portrait of her daughter, and around the same time I discovered Duane Keiser's wonderful blog A Painting A Day.
I didn't complete the portrait in a day but I sure did work on it every day! Both ideas were inspiring and fun and I have been painting in oil ever since.
Now, this whole blogging thing is a lot of fun too and I have to credit my younger daughter and her blog GirlOliver for inspiring me to dive in!
