| I was so touched that my son and daughter-in-law liked this painting and wrapped it up to take home with them even though it is about 48" x 32". Kate is a French teacher and takes her students to France every year and they always visit The Louvre and always this red room, so she loved it! |

| whenever I finish with a painting and I have left over paint on my palette, I will use it to cover the next canvas and sometimes something emerges while I am slapping the paint on. That's what happened in this case, for better or worse... but it's fun non-the-less. |

| this painting was inspired by Clark, our new old dog... He was sleeping and looked so peaceful ... Clark is actually a piebald/dapple/ long hair/wire hair dachshund and one day I shall try to capture his beautiful coloring but for a quick study I was happy just to try to catch him in a "non-wired" mood. |

Wow, Christmas was wonderful but I have "been away" a long time and need to get back into painting every day. I am beginning to understand why people go on "painting retreats" to some idyllic spot...something I will more than likely never do, just cuz I'm a homebody, but I need some inspiration in the new year of 2013.
